In a disturbing incident that unfolded on Monday evening, a man has been apprehended after entering a church in Redwood City, California, and threatening one of the employees with a box cutter, according to authorities. The incident occurred at approximately 7:31 p.m. at the Street Life Ministries Church, located about 30 miles south of San Francisco.
The Redwood City Police Department swiftly responded to a report of a subject brandishing a blade and threatening an employee. The suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Jorge Orozco, fled the scene shortly after the confrontation. However, a vigilant individual who witnessed the incident followed Orozco and alerted the police, enabling them to locate him in a nearby neighborhood.
At this time, it remains unclear whether Orozco had any affiliation with the church or if he knew anyone present. The motive behind his menacing behavior towards the employee also remains unknown.
Following his detention, Orozco was found to be in possession of a box cutter, which was promptly confiscated by the police. The victim and two witnesses positively identified Orozco as the perpetrator. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.
