Fairfield Police Make Multiple Arrests After Drug and Weapon Confiscation

The Fairfield Police Department has reported several arrests over the weekend in connection with two separate incidents involving the seizure of drugs and weapons. The department officials released a statement detailing the events, which took place on January 19 and 20.

First Incident: Traffic Stop Turns into Pursuit

On January 19, at approximately 10:21 p.m., Fairfield police officers were conducting traffic enforcement near West Texas and Gregory Streets when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop due to an equipment violation. However, the driver failed to yield and a brief pursuit ensued. The suspect then tried to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended by the officers.

Prior to exiting the vehicle, the officers noticed the suspect reaching towards the floorboards near his seat. When they detained the suspect, they discovered a loaded Glock handgun hidden in that area. Additionally, several bindles of cocaine, packaged for sale, were found in the vehicle.

The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Kenneth Taylor, was arrested on various charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, transporting a narcotic for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, driving under the influence, evading and resisting arrest, and a parole violation. Taylor was booked into the Solano County Jail, with bail set at £45,000.00.

Upon arrival, the responding officers were directed to the suspect by the panicked clerk. The suspect was later identified as 34-year-old Anthony Westbrook.

During Westbrook’s arrest, law enforcement discovered several stolen items in his possession along with the knife. The Fairfield Police Department issued a release stating that Westbrook was taken into custody, charged with suspicion of robbery and obstructing a public officer, and subsequently booked into the Solano County Jail. His bail was set at £55,000.
