WILDWOOD, Fla. (TCD) — Special agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are currently investigating an officer-involved shooting incident that resulted in the death of an elderly woman who was undergoing a mental episode. The incident took place in Wildwood, Florida.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, January 22, at approximately 11:09 p.m., deputies received a distress call from the Rails End Mobile Home Park. The caller, later identified as 81-year-old Janet Sours, requested rescue personnel to come to her home, stating, “People were dying over here” before abruptly ending the call.
