In a distressing incident on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at around 3:44 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department swiftly responded to reports of an armed man attempting to steal a car in the vicinity of A Street and Seventh Street.

A female shopper at the Guadalajara Meat Market became aware of the situation when she heard the sound of dogs barking. Curious, she decided to investigate, only to find Dwight Brown, a male individual, seated in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, according to investigators.

When the victim confronted Brown and demanded that he exit the vehicle, he responded violently, assaulting her and striking her multiple times, as reported by the sheriff’s department.

Despite the brutal attack, the victim managed to seek assistance, causing Brown to flee the scene. Law enforcement later located Brown in a nearby area, and with the help of assisting deputies, he was successfully identified. Brown, who displayed uncooperative behavior during the apprehension, was ultimately taken into custody, as confirmed by investigators.

He currently faces charges of P.C. 211 (Robbery) and P.C. 422(A) (Criminal Threats).
