Man Charged with Arson and Weapons Offences after City Hall Incident in Edmonton
Details emerge about the alleged shooter and charges faced
The man responsible for firing a long gun and throwing a Molotov cocktail inside Edmonton City Hall on Tuesday has been identified as Bezhani Sarvar, a 28-year-old individual. According to CTV News Edmonton, Sarvar is now facing a total of seven charges, including arson and weapons offences.
During a news conference held on Tuesday afternoon, Chief Dale McFee of the Edmonton Police Service revealed that the alleged shooter was heavily armed at the time of the incident. However, it is still too early to determine the motive behind this shocking act.
Regarding the shooter’s prior interactions with law enforcement, Chief McFee stated that it has not yet been confirmed whether the individual was known to the police or not.

As a result of the shooting, Edmonton City Hall remains closed on Wednesday. Clean-up crews have been working diligently to remove broken glass and other debris that resulted from this unfortunate incident.
