GBI Assisting Quitman Police in Murder Investigation
Quitman, Georgia – A murder occurred in Quitman, Georgia during the early morning hours on Tuesday, leading Quitman Police to request assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
According to the GBI, Quitman Police Chief Roy Hart reached out to the agency around 1:34 a.m. on Tuesday seeking help with a murder that took place in the 900 block of South Lee Street in Quitman.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Willie Giddens Jr., was fatally shot inside his residence, according to the GBI.
Upon arrival, Quitman Police and Brooks County Deputies discovered that there were other individuals present in the home at the time of the incident. The GBI revealed that one of these individuals was injured during the home invasion but sustained non-life-threatening wounds.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted later this week to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder, as stated by the GBI.
