RCMP Continues to Seek Assistance in Locating Missing Persons

The Saskatchewan RCMP is appealing to the public for help in locating several missing individuals. The investigations are ongoing, and any information could be crucial in finding them.

January 16: Successful Drug Trafficking Investigation in North Battleford

On January 16, the Battleford RCMP’s Gang Task Force (GTF) conducted an operation to combat illicit drug trafficking in North Battleford. With the assistance of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, the GTF arrested an adult male at a residence on St. Laurent Drive. Following the arrest, the officers executed a search warrant at the residence and another on 102 Street. They discovered drug trafficking paraphernalia and an imitation firearm.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, 43-year-old Sean Schille from North Battleford has been charged with 12 offenses, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and driving in a dangerous manner to the public. Schille appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on January 18, 2024.

January 17: Drug and Weapons Charges Laid in Melville

A joint investigation by the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Yorkton Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT), Yorkton Municipal General Investigation Section, and the Melville RCMP Detachment has led to the arrest of three individuals from Melville. On January 17, police pulled over a vehicle in Yorkton and subsequently arrested the occupants. A search warrant was then executed at a residence in Melville, resulting in the discovery of additional drugs, cash, and prohibited weapons.

The police seized a total of 28 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of fentanyl, a sum of cash, and brass knuckles. As a result of the investigation, 35-year-old Jesse Dean Starr, 22-year-old Amber Caitlin Gettel, and Corey Walter Lambie (DOB: 1975-04-21) from Melville are facing various charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. Starr and Gettel made their first court appearance in Yorkton on January 19, 2024, while Lambie is scheduled to appear on February 26, 2024.

January 19: Drug-related Arrests in La Ronge

La Ronge RCMP received a request to conduct a wellness check at a residence on Jack Pine Avenue. During the check, officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and subsequently obtained a search warrant. The search led to the seizure of a small amount of cocaine, illicit marijuana, trafficking paraphernalia, cash, and a 3D printed firearm with a high-capacity magazine.

Seven individuals were arrested at the residence, and they are facing multiple firearms-related offenses, possession of the proceeds of crime, and possession for the purpose of trafficking charges. All accused are scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on January 22, 2024.
