The young victim, identified as Aathviq, was the son of Karthik and Manimegalai from Thannatchiyappan Kovil Street in Pollachi. On that fateful day, Karthik had gone to a relative’s house in Makkinampatti, accompanied by his son. While Karthik was inside the house with his relatives, Aathviq was playing outside.

However, when Karthik went to check on his son after some time, he was nowhere to be found. Frantically searching for him, Karthik eventually discovered the lifeless body of his son in a water tank on the premises of the house. He immediately rushed Aathviq to the government hospital in Pollachi, but tragically, the doctors pronounced him dead.

Following a postmortem examination, the child’s body was handed over to the grieving family. A devastated Manimegalai lodged a complaint with the Pollachi East police, resulting in a case being registered under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) for death under suspicious circumstances. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
