“Temple Police Identify Michael Jarod Tassler and Danny Oliver Thompson in Burglary and Assault Case”

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Temple, Tx (FOX 44) – The Temple Police Department has recently released the identities of the two individuals who were apprehended after a burglary, pursuit, and assault on an officer that occurred last Saturday. The suspects have been identified as Michael Jarod Tassler, aged 40, and Danny Oliver Thompson, aged 41. As of Monday, both individuals are being held in the Bell County Jail and are facing felony charges.

According to Temple Police Department spokesperson Megan Price, the incident took place around 6:24 a.m. on Saturday when officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Charter Oak Drive in response to reports of a burglary. Upon arrival, the officers spotted Tassler and Thompson inside a vehicle that was loaded with items believed to have been stolen from the building.

When the officers approached the suspects, Thompson attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by one of the officers. Meanwhile, Tassler, the other suspect, allegedly tried to run over an officer with the vehicle as he made his escape. He was last seen heading south towards Belton.

Fortunately, a Bell County deputy noticed the suspect vehicle traveling south on Interstate 35 and initiated a pursuit that led them to Salado. The suspect eventually came to a stop and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by law enforcement officers. Both suspects were subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Bell County Jail.

Thompson has been charged with burglary of a building, and his bond has been set at $20,000. On the other hand, Tassler faces the burglary charge as well as additional charges of felony evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle and two other felonies. His bond has been set at $65,000.
