DONALSONVILLE, Georgia – Miss Donalsonville Arrested and Charged with Murder of Young Child

A potential cause has emerged in the tragic death of an infant, which has led to the arrest of the reigning Miss Donalsonville, Trinity Madison Poague. The 18-year-old beauty queen has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery, and First Degree Cruelty to Children, following the incident that claimed the life of an 18-month-old boy, identified as Romeo Angles by Sumter County Deputy Coroner Mathis Wright.

The shocking incident unfolded on Sunday, January 14, when Deputy Coroner Wright responded to an emergency call at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia. Tragically, young Angles was pronounced dead at the hospital due to apparent blunt-force trauma, prompting an immediate investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Contrary to previous media reports, Deputy Coroner Wright denied claims that the fatal injuries occurred in a dorm room at Georgia Southwestern State University. The exact location of the alleged crime remains unknown. However, it has been revealed that Trinity Madison Poague was in a relationship with the supposed father of the child. It is worth noting that the child’s birth certificate does not identify anyone as the biological father, adding another layer of complexity to the case.

According to Deputy Coroner Wright, on the night of the tragic incident, the supposed father identified the infant as Jaxton Drew when speaking to hospital staff. The GBI promptly initiated an investigation and conducted thorough interviews, leading to the subsequent arrest of Trinity Madison Poague.

Poague, who was crowned Miss Donalsonville in 2023 and later participated in the prestigious Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant, is currently a sophomore at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. As of now, she is being held without bond in the Sumter County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
