Woman Arrested for Attempted Robbery at Cromwell Sandwich Shop

A woman was apprehended by police on Sunday after allegedly attempting to rob a sandwich shop in Cromwell. The suspect, armed with a knife, was swiftly taken into custody, ensuring the safety of the employees and customers present at the scene.

Incident at D’Angelo’s Grilled Sandwiches

The incident occurred at D’Angelo’s Grilled Sandwiches, located at 34 Shunpike Road in Cromwell. The Cromwell Police Department promptly responded to a distress call reporting an ongoing armed robbery at the establishment.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers were informed by an employee and a customer that a female suspect was inside the store, wielding a knife. Reacting swiftly, the officers surrounded the building, ensuring that the suspect would not be able to escape.

Arrest and Charges

Without wasting any time, the officers successfully apprehended the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Holly Scovill, a resident of Cromwell. Scovill was ordered to exit the premises and was subsequently taken into custody.

Following the arrest, the Cromwell Police Department officially charged Scovill with multiple offenses. These include first-degree robbery, second-degree threatening, carrying a dangerous weapon, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, and second-degree breach of peace.

Court Proceedings and Detention

Scovill’s case will be presented at the Middletown Superior Court on Monday. She is currently being held on a bond of $250,000, ensuring her presence during the legal proceedings.
