Tragically, the driver of the BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed within the number one lane of westbound Highway 152. Due to the combination of excessive speed and poor visibility, the BMW crashed into the left rear trailer of the Freightliner. The impact caused several bundles of wood tree stakes to fall onto the westbound lanes of Highway 152, creating a dangerous situation for other motorists.

Antonio Alcantara, identified by friends as the driver of a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, was also traveling westbound on Highway 152.
