Accident – death – Obituary News : Brutal Drug Trafficking Gang from Venezuela Operating in South Florida, Law Enforcement Reveals

A shocking revelation has come to light as federal and local law enforcement agencies in South Florida uncover the operations of a brutal drug trafficking gang from Venezuela. The gang, known as Tren De Aragua, has been implicated in a murder investigation that has shed light on their modus operandi. It has been discovered that the gang members used women as a lure while conducting their operations from hotels in Medley and in close proximity to Miami International Airport.

The investigation was initiated last year following the death of a 43-year-old Venezuelan man named Jose Luis Sanchez Valera, who was residing in Doral. Sanchez Valera, a retired Venezuelan police officer, was found dead in his car on November 28. The subsequent investigation revealed that he had been lured to La Quinta Inn & Suites by women, who then kidnapped and robbed him. The perpetrators also burglarized his apartment before ultimately killing him, according to an arrest warrant.

On the night of the incident, Sanchez Valera left the hotel room accompanied by two women at approximately 2:30 a.m. Little did he know that he was walking into an ambush, as three people attacked him. While two of them broke into Sanchez Valera’s apartment and stole a safe from his closet, the victim’s relatives tracked his phone using an app. Their search led them to find Sanchez Valera dead inside his blood-splattered Toyota 4Runner, with his hands and feet bound in tape.

The family of the victim revealed that the suspects had befriended Sanchez Valera with the intention of gaining access to his safe, which contained a stash of gold. One of the suspects in the murder case has been identified as Yurwin Salazar Maita, a 23-year-old Venezuelan residing in Pompano Beach. He was apprehended on Tuesday in Broward County and subsequently charged with first-degree murder, armed home invasion, carjacking, and kidnapping. Salazar Maita is believed to have connections to the Tren De Aragua gang, although authorities have not disclosed the specifics of this association. Furthermore, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on him.

In addition to Salazar Maita, the arrest warrant also names Yoleidy Del Carman Ilarraza and her boyfriend, Julio Cesar Hernandez Montero, as suspects in the case. Both individuals are associated with Salazar Maita and were acquaintances of Sanchez Valera.

Tren De Aragua has been designated as a narcoterrorist organization by the FBI, with the US State Department highlighting their exploitation of victims in South America, particularly Venezuelan women, children, and displaced Colombians. The State Department further noted that the gang marks “women and girls behind their ears to prove ownership.”

Originating in Venezuela’s Aragua state, the gang’s most recent known leader is Hector Guerrero, also known as El Nino Guerrero. Guerrero, a 40-year-old fugitive, formerly controlled the Tocoron prison and was reported to have mined Bitcoin from within its walls. However, he managed to flee the prison as authorities seized control of it last year. Interpol has since issued a red notice for Guerrero.

As this shocking revelation unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the presence and impact of organized crime groups that operate across borders. The investigation into the Tren De Aragua gang highlights the need for continued collaboration between international law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and related criminal activities effectively.
