Two Arrested in Santa Rosa after Traffic Stop Leads to Residential Search Warrant

(KRON) – Law enforcement authorities in Santa Rosa apprehended two individuals following a routine traffic stop that subsequently led to the execution of a residential search warrant. The Santa Rosa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team officers conducted the traffic stop on a white Camero with an expired vehicle registration at 5:41 p.m. on January 17. This incident occurred near the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and Hearn Avenue.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the driver of the vehicle was operating with a suspended license and had multiple outstanding warrants for their arrest. Furthermore, the driver was found to be in possession of narcotic paraphernalia, as confirmed by the authorities.

Law enforcement identified the driver as Isaiah Cook, a 44-year-old resident of Santa Rosa. The passenger, Lydia Jones, a 39-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, was also apprehended.

As part of the traffic stop, the vehicle’s occupants were asked to exit the car, allowing officers to conduct a probable cause vehicle search. During the search, additional narcotics paraphernalia was discovered, providing further evidence to support the charges.

In the personal belongings of Lydia Jones, law enforcement officials uncovered an unloaded Colt .25 auto handgun. Additionally, officers located a loaded 9 mm handgun concealed in the engine compartment of the vehicle. The investigation revealed that both firearms were unregistered, which is a violation of the law. It was also discovered that Isaiah Cook, being a convicted felon, was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.

Following the traffic stop, law enforcement officials obtained a search warrant for the residence located in the 1000 block of Lombardi Lane, where both Cook and Jones resided. The subsequent search of the property revealed a loaded, unregistered 9mm Glock model 19 handgun in Cook’s bedroom.

As a result of the findings, Isaiah Cook was arrested and subsequently booked on multiple felony weapons charges. Lydia Jones was also taken into custody and booked for both felony and misdemeanor weapons charges.
