Santa Rosa Resident Arrested on Multiple Weapon Charges
(KRON) – A resident of Santa Rosa, located in Sonoma County, has been apprehended by the Santa Rosa Police Department on several weapon charges after allegedly loitering in a suspicious manner. The incident took place on January 20th at around 9:20 p.m. at the 900 Block of Sunset Avenue.

The Special Enforcement Team officers of the Santa Rosa Police Department noticed two individuals loitering in the aforementioned area, prompting them to investigate the situation further.

After making contact with the subjects, the officers determined that there was sufficient reason to conduct a weapons search. Upon investigation, it was discovered that one of the individuals, identified as 22-year-old Jose Rubio, a Santa Rosa resident, was in possession of a loaded, concealed Glock Model 21 .45 caliber handgun. This is a significant finding as Rubio is a convicted felon, legally prohibited from possessing any form of firearm or ammunition.
As a result of these findings, Rubio was promptly arrested and subsequently booked on multiple felony weapons charges.
It is important to note that the second individual involved was a minor and was not charged with any crime, according to the police.
