The swift response by the local police was commendable, with Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh of Araria providing a detailed account of the events. Alam’s call, made on January 19th to the emergency number 112, triggered an immediate investigation. Although it was discovered that Alam had no prior criminal record, his mental stability came under scrutiny.

In light of the sensitivity surrounding the issue, the police treated the threat seriously and initiated a case at the Palasi police station. As part of their investigation, Alam’s mobile phone was confiscated, revealing that it was registered under his father’s name.

“On January 19, the man dialed 112, the emergency helpline number, claiming to be Chhota Shakeel, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim,” revealed Singh during his interview with PTI.

“Alam threatened over the phone to blow up the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22… He does not have a criminal record, but he seems to be mentally unstable,” added the Superintendent of Police.
