Three Men Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting in Tuscaloosa County

Tuscaloosa police have apprehended three individuals in connection with a tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man in Tuscaloosa County. The incident took place in the Buhl community, resulting in the death of Cayden Nolen.

At approximately 3 a.m., deputies from the Tuscaloosa County Sherriff’s Office rushed to the 11000 block of Pate Road following reports of a shooting. Captain Jack Kennedy, who leads the Tuscaloosa Violent Unit, stated that the incident occurred during a gathering where an altercation had broken out. During the shooting, four individuals sustained injuries.

Despite the deputies’ attempts to save Nolen’s life, their efforts proved unsuccessful. Two other victims were critically injured but are currently in stable condition, while a fourth victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit and TCSO Crime Scene Unit promptly arrived at the scene to initiate the investigation.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities identified and apprehended three suspects in separate locations within Tuscaloosa County. The suspects, namely 22-year-old Dallas Eugene Clark from Northport, 23-year-old Zachary Tyler Smith from Buhl, and 21-year-old Jarret Tyler Booth, also from Buhl, have each been charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

As the investigation progresses, Captain Kennedy revealed that there may be additional charges awaiting the suspects.

All three individuals have been remanded to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where they are currently being held without bond.
