On January 20th, the 911 Communications Center received a distressing call at around 3:28 p.m. The caller reported the presence of a deceased human body in the 2200 block of U.S. Highway 23, just north of Portsmouth.

The body has been identified as Wilbur Silvia, a 48-year-old resident of McDermott, Ohio. According to authorities, Silvia had been missing for approximately one month before her remains were found. Shockingly, no missing report had been filed for Silvia due to her lack of communication with friends and family regarding her whereabouts.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman has stated that no foul play is suspected at this time, but the investigation is still ongoing. The body was transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
