Physically Challenged Woman Fatally Struck by Speeding Truck in New Delhi

In a tragic incident that has shocked the residents of New Delhi, a 39-year-old physically challenged woman lost her life after being hit by a speeding truck. The heart-wrenching incident took place near Shamshan Ghat in Geeta Colony.

According to the authorities, the police control room received a distress call on Thursday, reporting an accident involving a woman and an unknown vehicle. The victim was rushed to SDN hospital but was sadly declared brought dead by medical professionals.

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage from the area, the police discovered that the victim, who was physically challenged, was crossing the road in a sitting posture when a green dumper truck ran over her.

The police department launched a massive hunt across the city to track down the culprit responsible for this heinous crime. The investigation led them to check the parking lots of all the trucks hired by Gowar Construction Company in Shastri Park and Akshardham.

The diligent team meticulously scanned approximately 150 CCTV cameras installed in various locations, including Geeta Colony Flyover, Shakarpur, Laxmi Nagar, Vikas Marg, Akshardham Temple, and Shastri Park.

During this extensive search, the investigators discovered a potential clue. They noticed a significant discrepancy in the make of the truck, particularly with one of its front lights not functioning and some missing digits on the back of the vehicle.

It is important to note that the offending truck was primarily used for dumping concrete and other building materials. Unfortunately, the registration number was not visible from either side, making the identification process more challenging for the authorities.

After thorough investigation and relentless efforts, the truck driver was identified as Firoz, a resident of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. He was subsequently apprehended by the police.

During the course of sustained interrogation, Firoz confessed to his involvement in the accident that claimed the life of the physically challenged woman, bringing some closure to this tragic incident.
