Accident – death – Obituary News : Peel Police Arrest Man and Search for Teenage Suspect in Connection with Fatal Shooting

Peel police have made an arrest and are actively searching for a teenage suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Brampton man last month. The victim, identified as Nishan Thind, was shot at an unknown location and time.

The incident came to light when police were called to a local hospital on the afternoon of December 19, after a shooting victim was dropped off. Despite efforts to save him, Thind succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Earlier this week, homicide investigators executed a search warrant at a Brampton home and took 18-year-old Preetpaul Singh into custody. Singh has been charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offense. However, the alleged shooter, a 16-year-old boy, remains at large. He is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for manslaughter.

Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the police are unable to release the name of the teenage suspect. However, they are urging anyone with information or video footage, including dashcam footage, to come forward and contact Homicide detectives at 905-453-2121 extension 3205.
