The incident took place when Jaiprakash Singh, a resident of Locha village, was returning home from a feast at Raghopur village late on Thursday night. According to the police, his bike was hit by a truck. Upon receiving information from passers-by, the police retrieved the body from the accident spot and sent it to SKMCH in Muzaffarpur for postmortem.

The family members of the deceased alleged that the police took the body directly for postmortem without consulting the doctors, which goes against standard operating procedures. They also claimed that the police did not wait for the body to be identified.

It was only after the family members arrived at the hospital upon hearing about the accident that the deceased was identified as Jaiprakash Singh, son of Vibha Devi, a former ward member of Raghopur.

However, the ECG test confirmed his death. Dr. Sinha further explained that they do not issue death certificates for individuals who die outside the hospital without undergoing a postmortem examination, making it necessary to perform the test.
