Tripura police register case against three individuals for shooting incident

The Tripura police have recently taken action against three individuals in relation to a shooting incident involving a 22-year-old man. The incident occurred in the Khagendra Roaja Para area of the Dhalai district in Tripura on Thursday night.

The victim, identified as Khatra Joy Tripura, was shot in the face following an altercation related to the alleged abuse and assault of his child. Ambassa police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.

A senior police officer confirmed that the incident took place in the Khagendra Roaja Para area. The three accused individuals, Biswaram Tripura, Joisa Tripura, and Ankajoy Tripura, have been charged with illegal possession of arms, attempting to cause grievous harm with weapons, and other related offenses.

The police revealed that the three accused were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. They verbally and physically assaulted the victim’s son, leading to a heated argument. Subsequently, one of the accused individuals shot Khatra Joy in the face using a locally made rifle.

After sustaining serious injuries, the victim was initially taken to a local hospital and later transferred to GBP Hospital in Agartala for further treatment.

“The victim’s injuries are severe,” stated a senior police officer. Additionally, authorities recovered two locally made rifles from the scene of the crime.

Currently, the accused individuals are on the run, and the police have launched an investigation to locate and apprehend them.
