Man Found Dead Inside Car in DeLand: Update from DeLand Police

DeLand Police provided WESH 2 with an update on a tragic incident where a man was discovered dead inside a car. The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Clinton Dorsey. This disturbing incident unfolded when local therapist Travis McBride allegedly shot and killed Dorsey. McBride appeared in court on Friday and is currently being held without bond on charges of first-degree, premeditated murder.

An Alarming Discovery

The initial distressing call was made on Thursday morning, alerting authorities about the murder. “There’s been a murder that happened,” the caller reported. “We have a couple of eyewitnesses, and I believe the person right now is looking at the road, cleaning up the blood off the ground.”

While the motive behind this gruesome act has not yet been determined, DeLand Police Chief Jason Umberger shared some insights into the relationship between McBride and Dorsey. “We believe there was an ongoing dispute between our suspect, Travis McBride, and our victim,” Umberger disclosed.
