Western North Carolina Woman Arrested for Possession of Multiple Drugs

A woman from western North Carolina has been arrested after authorities discovered a variety of drugs in her car during a routine traffic stop. The incident took place near McDowell County on US 221 South, when Detective David Jones pulled over a vehicle for multiple driving violations.

Deceptive Identity and Discovery of Drugs

Upon approaching the driver, the individual provided false identification but was later identified as 25-year-old Alexandra Jaqueline Cole. Detective Burnette, accompanied by K9 officer Kessy, assisted with the traffic stop. K9 Kessy alerted the officers to the possible presence of narcotics within the vehicle.

An extensive search, conducted by the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, yielded the discovery of various illegal substances. Among the drugs found were methamphetamine, ecstasy, mushrooms, and a concealed firearm.

Charges Filed Against Cole

As a result of the search, Cole has been charged with multiple offenses by the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. The charges include felonious possession of methamphetamine, two counts of felonious trafficking methamphetamine, two counts of felonious possession of a schedule I controlled substance, felonious possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine, felonious maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, felonious possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, felonious identity theft, simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance, providing false information to an officer, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Appreciation for Law Enforcement

Sheriff Ricky T. Buchanan commended the efforts of the Criminal Investigation Team (CIT) involved in the arrest, stating, “Great job by our CIT! I’m proud of this team for their dedication to combating the distribution of illegal drugs.”
