Tragic Murder-Suicide in Union, New Jersey Leaves Family Dead
UNION, New Jersey (WABC) —
Authorities in Union, New Jersey are grappling with the devastating aftermath of a murder-suicide that claimed the lives of a family of four. The incident, which occurred on Lincrest Terrace, shocked the local community and left investigators searching for answers.

On a fateful Wednesday morning, members of the Union County Sheriff’s Department were called to the Alarcon family home on an unrelated matter. Little did they know that they would stumble upon a horrifying scene of tragedy. Inside the residence, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Ruben Alarcon, 51, his wife Andrea Alarcon, 42, and their two daughters, whose identities have not been disclosed.
An in-depth joint investigation carried out by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Was Force and the Union Police Department has revealed that Andrea Alarcon was the perpetrator behind this shocking act of violence. It is believed that she fatally shot her husband and two young daughters before turning the gun on herself, taking her own life.
The murder weapon was found near Andrea’s lifeless body, providing a grim confirmation of the murder-suicide theory. The exact motive behind this tragic event remains unknown, leaving friends, family, and the local community in shock and disbelief.
Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel expressed his condolences, stating, “In tragedies of this magnitude, there are no words that can heal, nor explanations that can serve to make sense of them to the public. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of these victims and to the Union community as a whole in the wake of this horrible event.”
