During the meeting, the victim encountered a woman later identified as Garcia. As they engaged in conversation, Toledo approached and pointed a firearm at the woman, demanding her car keys. Fearing for her and her daughter’s safety, the woman swiftly grabbed her child and fled the scene. The suspects quickly entered the Charger and made their escape, causing the little girl to fall and injure her knee in the process.

Upon arrival, the victim provided the police with the phone number used by the potential buyer. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the number belonged to Toledo. Authorities traced the phone’s location to a Banner Medical Center in Peoria, where they recovered it from the abandoned Charger in the parking lot.

Law enforcement officers began inspecting addresses associated with Toledo and eventually spotted him in the passenger seat of a vehicle leaving the area. A Phoenix police helicopter monitored the car’s movements until it arrived at an Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry facility, where Toledo was reporting to his parole officer. Toledo and Garcia were subsequently apprehended, with the latter waiting for him in a parked car. A search of Garcia’s purse yielded a handgun and the key to the stolen Charger.

Toledo, described by the police as a “career criminal,” and Garcia are now facing charges that include armed robbery and theft of means of transportation.
