Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, the Pompton Lakes Police Department received a report of a pedestrian being hit by a motor vehicle around 7:58 p.m. The accident occurred near the intersection of Ringwood Avenue and Carr Street.

The victim has been identified as 69-year-old Daniel Schneider from Bloomingdale. He was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was tragically pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation, according to Valdes.
