The case was first brought to the attention of deputies at approximately 8:51 a.m. on Thursday, when they received calls regarding suspicious circumstances at the Rueter-Hess Incline on Ancestry Drive and a nearby residence on Blackwolf Drive.

It was at the Rueter-Hess Incline that the body of Brandon Timms, 38, was discovered, alongside an unidentified juvenile. The grim discovery was made by visitors to the recreation site, who immediately alerted authorities. This led investigators to the residence on Blackwolf Drive, located a couple of miles away.

Upon entering the residence, officers made the harrowing discovery of a deceased woman, later identified as Angel Meyers, 43. In addition to finding Meyers’ lifeless body, the officers also noted a strong smell of natural gas in the home, prompting them to evacuate the premises.

The Parker Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have since released a joint statement, revealing that they believe Timms shot Meyers at the Blackwolf Drive residence before driving himself and the male juvenile to the Rueter-Hess Incline. It was there that he tragically took the life of the young boy before turning the gun on himself.
