Police Identify 31-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Hit by Truck on North Oak Trafficway

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department has released the identity of the cyclist who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday. According to authorities, the victim has been identified as Rick D. Snow, a 31-year-old individual. The incident occurred on North Oak Trafficway near 82nd Street, where Snow was riding his bicycle in a southerly direction. Unfortunately, he was struck by a silver Ford F-150 truck that was also traveling southbound on North Oak Trafficway. Tragically, Snow was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was thrown off his bike, resulting in his immediate death.

The driver of the silver Ford F-150 did not stop after the collision. However, law enforcement authorities were able to locate the vehicle and its driver, who has been identified as Brian Zug, a resident of St. Joseph, Missouri. Zug was apprehended near the intersection of 79th Street and North Oak Trafficway on suspicion of impairment. As a result of their investigation, the Clay County, Missouri, Prosecutor’s Office has charged Zug with two felonies: DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) causing death and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. The investigation into this tragic incident is still ongoing.
