A terrible accident took place on Monday afternoon in Sector 54, Golf Course Road, leaving a 29-year-old man in critical condition and his 30-year-old sister-in-law injured. The incident occurred when they were riding their scooter from Genpact Chowk to AIT Chowk. The local police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The accused has been identified as Rajat Chauhan, a 24-year-old city resident and law student.

The victim, Arshad Ali, was driving the scooter with his sister-in-law, Sahira, riding pillion. Shockingly, both of them were not wearing helmets. The speeding Innova SUV collided with their scooter from behind, causing Arshad to sustain multiple fractures on his pelvis and injuries on his face. He was initially admitted to Max Hospital but later transferred to Akropolis Hospital in Badshahpur for further treatment. Sahira, on the other hand, was admitted to a general hospital in Sector 56.

Ravinder Singh, a colleague of Arshad, filed a complaint at Sector 53 police station after receiving a call from the police regarding the incident. The authorities have already identified Rajat Chauhan as the accused and assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against him.

An FIR has been registered against Rajat Chauhan under sections 279 (rash driving), 338 (injury by negligence), and 427 (causing property damage) of the IPC. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and following traffic rules to prevent such accidents.
