Pearl, Miss. – A suspect has been apprehended after allegedly shoplifting and firing shots inside a Dollar General store in Pearl. The incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Dollar General located at 624 South Pearson Road, according to the Pearl Police Department.

Upon arrival at the scene, Pearl Police officers were informed that an individual had shoplifted from the store and subsequently discharged a firearm inside the premises. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the store’s staff or customers.

After conducting a thorough investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 27-year-old Treasure Destiny Gayden from Pearl. Gayden was taken into custody at around 6:30 p.m. and now faces four counts of aggravated assault, in addition to one count of shoplifting. He is currently being held at the Rankin County Jail.

Thanks to the diligent work of Pearl Police detectives, the stolen items and the firearm used in the shooting were recovered. This successful recovery ensures that the stolen merchandise will be returned to the store, and the weapon will be used as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
