Tragic Accident: 12-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Hit by School Bus in Delhi

New Delhi: A 12-year-old girl tragically lost her life on Thursday after she was struck by a school bus while crossing the road in Sarita Vihar, a residential area in southeast Delhi. The driver of the bus has been arrested by the police.

The incident was reported to the local police station at 8:33 am after the victim’s father, a fruit vendor, called to inform about the accident. According to a senior police officer, an FIR (First Information Report) has been registered against the bus driver, identified as Ram Vinod (42). The driver has been taken into custody, and his vehicle has been seized. It has been revealed that the school had hired the bus.

The victim’s mother claimed that she and her daughter were crossing the road when she signaled the driver to stop using her hand. However, the driver allegedly ignored the signal, resulting in the tragic accident. A relative of the child stated that the bus driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle at a high speed, leading to the collision and the child’s untimely demise.

Witnesses in the vicinity apprehended the driver and immediately informed the police about the incident. The authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and questioning witnesses to gather more evidence.

In a separate incident in Geeta Colony, a woman lost her life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. The victim’s identity is yet to be established, and the police are actively searching for the offending vehicle.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 12:30 am on Thursday. CCTV footage confirmed that the woman was crossing the road when she was struck by a dumper truck. The impact caused severe injuries, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she was declared dead upon arrival. The dumper truck driver did not stop to assist the victim and fled the scene. A passerby who witnessed the accident immediately informed the police.

Efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend the driver responsible for the hit-and-run incident. Police teams have been formed, and CCTV footage is being carefully analyzed to aid in the investigation.
