A 22-year-old woman in North Carolina has been arrested and charged with the murder of her 10-year-old sister. Kaneijah Zyir Bradley is accused of stabbing her younger sister multiple times inside their family home before dragging her body into the backyard. The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday, leading to Bradley’s arrest by authorities.

According to a news release from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Beaverdam Road after receiving a report from the mother that her 10-year-old child was missing. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the missing child in the backyard of the home. Tragically, the little girl was found deceased, showing signs of multiple stab wounds.

Further investigation by the sheriff’s office revealed that the child had been stabbed inside the home and then moved outside to the rear of the house. Investigators swiftly identified Kaneijah Zyir Bradley as the suspect and arrested her for murder. Currently, she is being held without bond in the Halifax County Detention Center. Bradley is scheduled to appear in county district court on January 25.

It is worth noting that at the time of the attack, Bradley was out on bond after being arrested twice last year for two separate incidents involving weapons. In one case, she allegedly cut her boyfriend with a box cutter during a domestic violence incident. Deputies responded to the assault report on April 22, 2023, in Enfield, North Carolina. The victim stated that Bradley had suddenly pulled out a box cutter and cut him, causing a gash on his lip. She then left him on the side of the highway. Bradley was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and larceny of a motor vehicle related to that incident. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 29.

In another incident in August 2023, Bradley was charged with assault with a deadly weapon against a law enforcement official, simple assault, and resisting an officer. Court records indicate that she is scheduled to appear in court for the August charges on February 24.
