Surat was struck by a tragic incident when a man took his own life after killing a minor girl in the Udhna area. The incident came to the attention of the police on Wednesday afternoon when they received a distress call. Upon reaching the crime scene, the police discovered two lifeless bodies in a house located in Om Shri Sai Nagar in Udhna. It was revealed that the man, identified as Vijay Goyal, had committed suicide after murdering the minor girl due to a love affair gone wrong.

Deputy Police Commissioner (Zone-2), Bhagirath Gadhvi, informed the media about the incident. He stated, “The police received a call in the afternoon, and upon reaching the first floor of the two-storied building in Om Shri Sai Nagar, they found the door locked from the inside. The police had to break open the door and discovered a person hanging, while the lifeless body of a minor girl lay on the floor. The preliminary investigation suggests that this incident occurred due to an affair.”

Udhna Police Inspector SN Desai shared further details about the case. He stated, “During the primary investigation, the police found that the woman was struck on the back of her head with an iron rod. Injury marks were also found on her neck. Both Vijay (28) and the minor girl (17) were residing in Vijayanagar, approximately 1 km away from the crime scene.”

The police suspect that an altercation between the two individuals led to the tragic incident. Vijay had recently shifted his residence, and the minor girl, who worked in a textile unit, had gone directly to his house instead of going to work at the usual time of 9:30 am.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem, and the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
