Accident – death – Obituary News : Jamal Augereau Bazile and Nathan Veiga are currently under investigation for their alleged involvement in a murder case that took place at a restaurant in Brockton. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has charged both men with murder, claiming that they planned and executed the crime on January 12. The victim, Joe Araujo, was shot and killed inside the Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet at the Brockton East Shopping Plaza.

Surveillance footage obtained by WCVB NewsCenter 5 provides chilling details of the incident. The video shows a man approaching Araujo’s table with a to-go food container around 7:25 p.m. He then swiftly pulls out a gun from his jacket and shoots Araujo at point-blank range. District Attorney Tim Cruz released the video to the public, stating that it was necessary to share the footage due to the rarity of execution-style shootings in the city.

After being shot, Araujo was immediately taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center but tragically succumbed to his injuries. The surveillance footage also revealed that there were children present near the table where the shooting occurred. Another individual can be seen grabbing a child and fleeing the restaurant. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported in connection to the incident.

The investigation into the shooting led authorities to Nathan Veiga’s home, where they discovered a distinctive jacket believed to have been worn by the shooter, Jamal Augereau Bazile. Veiga was promptly arrested by Brockton police. Bazile, on the other hand, was later located at a residence in Hyannis. However, when taken into custody, he began assaulting the police officers. The officers found a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson firearm in Bazile’s possession.

During the court proceedings, prosecutors revealed that Veiga, who was part of a rival group, spotted Araujo while he was having dinner with his girlfriend at the restaurant. Veiga allegedly left the premises, returned to the car he had been in, and discussed the situation with others in the vehicle. Shortly after, Bazile entered the restaurant and fired three shots at Araujo, hitting him twice. Prosecutors also disclosed that Bazile had previously faced charges for carrying a gun without a license.

Both Jamal Augereau Bazile and Nathan Veiga were arraigned in Brockton District Court, where they faced charges related to the shooting. Prosecutors claimed that Veiga orchestrated the incident, while Bazile executed the act. Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague cited social media posts as evidence, including one where Bazile allegedly stated, “I got points. I came up in my rank. I had to catch me one.” Bazile pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and discharge of a firearm. Veiga pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and accessory before the fact.
