ACB Raids Chaitanyapuri Police Station: Two Court Constables and Officials Caught Red-Handed

Hyderabad: In a recent development, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officers conducted raids at Chaitanyapuri Police Station, resulting in the apprehension of two court constables and court officials caught red-handed. The incident occurred when one of the constables demanded money from an accused individual. Feeling harassed, the victim promptly lodged a complaint with the ACB officials, prompting them to take immediate action. In a midnight operation, the officers conducted thorough searches at Chaitanyapuri Police Station.

Illegal Gas Refilling Center Raided in Hydershakot

In a separate incident, the SWOT police raided a gas refilling center in Hydershakot, located in Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district. The raid targeted individuals involved in the illegal refilling of gas into small cylinders extracted from domestic cylinders. As a result, the police successfully detained those responsible for this unlawful activity. The operation led to the seizure of 100 domestic cylinders, which were later handed over to the Narsinghi police.

Revenue Inspector Caught Accepting Bribe in Sadashivpet Municipality

Just yesterday afternoon, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials apprehended a revenue inspector, identified as P Venkat Rao, while accepting a bribe at Sadashivpet municipality in Sangareddy district. The incident unfolded after a complainant named Shiva Kumar approached the ACB, revealing that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 as a reward for processing his application for the allocation of a house number for his newly constructed home.

Upon receiving this complaint, the ACB officials swiftly devised a plan. They instructed Shiva Kumar to proceed with the bribe payment while they stood ready to pounce on the corrupt officer. Ultimately, the ACB successfully caught P Venkat Rao red-handed as he accepted the bribe through another officer named Venu Gopal Sharma.

During the operation, the bribe amount of Rs. 8,000/- was recovered, and a contact portion of white paper tested positive in the phenolphthalein test. These findings clearly indicated that the accused officers had engaged in improper and dishonest conduct to obtain undue advantages.

Arrest and Judicial Proceedings

Following their arrest, both P Venkat Rao and Venu Gopal Sharma were produced before the 1st Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court in Hyderabad.
