Details of Gruesome Murder of Gas Station Clerk in DeKalb County, Georgia

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has obtained new information about the horrifying murder of a gas station clerk in DeKalb County. The incident took place at the Chevron Food Mart located at the intersection of Snapfinger and Cleveland Road in Lithonia late on Monday night.

According to witnesses, a homeless man brutally attacked 25-year-old Vivek Saini with a hammer. The suspect has been identified as 53-year-old Julian Faulkner.

Employees at the Food Mart revealed that they had allowed Faulkner to come in and out of their store since Sunday evening. They provided him with food and even a jacket as he requested cigarettes, water, and other items.

However, on Monday night, Saini asked Faulkner to leave, stating that he had been there for two days. This request triggered a horrifying attack.

According to one of the employees, Faulkner hit Saini repeatedly with a hammer, delivering almost 50 blows to the victim’s head and face.

Upon the arrival of the police, Faulkner was found still holding the hammer and standing over Saini’s lifeless body. The officers commanded Faulkner to drop the weapon, and he was subsequently arrested.

Saini, a recent MBA graduate, tragically lost his life inside the store. The employees expressed their shock and disbelief, as they had always been helpful to Faulkner and never expected such a horrific incident to occur.

Faulkner is currently in jail, facing charges of malice murder and interference with government property.
