“Gregory Stahl Charged in Connection with Deadly Pedestrian Crash in Wrentham, Massachusetts”

Accident – Death – Obituary News : WRENTHAM, Mass. — Authorities have pressed charges in relation to a tragic pedestrian crash that occurred on Route 1 in Wrentham. The investigation revealed that the victim was struck by two vehicles, including a plow truck whose driver fled the scene, according to the latest announcement from investigators on Thursday.

The Wrentham Police Department stated that Gregory Stahl, a 73-year-old resident of Wrentham, will be summoned to court at a later date to face charges of leaving the scene of a collision causing death and driving with an expired license.

The incident unfolded when officers were alerted to a person being struck by a motor vehicle on the highway near 545 Washington Street at approximately 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, investigators discovered the lifeless body of a man in the left travel lane.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified by authorities as 42-year-old Patrick E. Royster from Taunton. Royster was declared dead at the scene. Police determined that Royster was walking north in a southbound breakdown lane when he attempted to cross the highway and was hit.

The driver of the first vehicle that struck Royster remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. No charges have been filed against this individual. However, witnesses came forward and informed the police that a pickup truck with a plow also hit Royster while he was lying in the middle of the road.

Subsequently, a thorough investigation led the police to Gregory Stahl, who allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived.

The Massachusetts State Police are providing ongoing assistance to the Wrentham Police Department in their investigation.
