Homeless Man Brutally Murders Gas Station Clerk in DeKalb County
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Shocking new details have emerged regarding the horrific murder of a gas station clerk in DeKalb County. Witnesses recount a gruesome attack that took place late Monday night at the Chevron Food Mart located at the intersection of Snapfinger and Cleveland Road in Lithonia.
According to witnesses, 25-year-old Vivek Saini was viciously assaulted with a hammer by a homeless man. The suspect has been identified as 53-year-old Julian Faulkner.

Employees at the Food Mart reveal that they had allowed Faulkner to enter and exit the store since Sunday evening. They generously provided him with food and drinks, including chips, Coke, and water. One employee shared their compassionate efforts, saying, “He asked if I could get a blanket, but we didn’t have any, so I gave him a jacket. He would come in and out, asking for cigarettes, water, and everything. We knew it was cold, so we never asked him to leave.”
However, on Monday night, Saini informed Faulkner that it was time for him to depart. The employee explained, “He asked him to leave or else he was going to call the cops since he had been there for two days.”
Tragically, as Saini left the gas station to go home, Faulkner launched a ferocious attack, repeatedly striking him with a hammer. The employee described the horrifying scene, stating, “He hit him from the back, then kept on hitting him for almost 50 times on the face and head.”
Upon police arrival, Faulkner was found still holding the murder weapon and standing over his lifeless victim. Officers promptly ordered him to drop the hammer.
Sadly, Saini, a recent MBA graduate, was pronounced dead inside the store. The Chevron Food Mart employees, who had always tried to be helpful, expressed their shock and disbelief, saying, “We never expected this sort of thing to happen.”
