Bell was traveling north on Ramsey Street in a white 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe when he veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2003 Hyundai Elantra coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the crash caused severe injuries to the driver of the Hyundai Elantra, identified as Wanda Eldridge, also 72 years old and from Fayetteville. Eldridge was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for immediate medical attention.
