14-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Subjected to Sexual Assault in North Delhi’s Burari Area

In a disturbing incident that has shaken the residents of north Delhi’s Burari area, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to sexual assault by her mother’s live-in partner. The police revealed this shocking information on Wednesday, leading to the registration of a case at the Burari police station. The accused, identified as Ankit Yadav, has been taken into custody and charged under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The 29-year-old accused, Ankit Yadav, hailing from Loni in Ghaziabad and working as a bus driver, was apprehended by the police and subsequently incarcerated. The investigation into this heinous crime is currently underway.

According to the police, the survivor’s mother had three children from her previous marriage and had been living with Ankit Yadav for the past eight years. The FIR filed in this case reveals that the alleged incident took place on July 23, when the woman was hospitalized, leaving her children unattended at home. Taking advantage of the situation, it is claimed that Ankit seized the opportunity to sexually assault the minor. Shockingly, the senior police officer also stated that Ankit had reportedly threatened and committed similar acts on previous occasions.

Upon learning about the incident, the woman promptly reported the matter to the police, leading to swift legal action. The survivor underwent a thorough medical examination and received counseling to support her during this traumatic time. Additionally, her statement was recorded under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), ensuring the preservation of her testimony.

Ankit Yadav, the accused, was arrested by the police and subsequently placed in judicial custody. The law enforcement agencies are committed to ensuring a fair investigation and justice for the survivor.
