Tragedy Strikes as Three-Year-Old Ruqaya Abu Dahouk is Fatally Shot by Israeli Occupation Forces

In a heart-wrenching incident, three-year-old Ruqaya Abu Dahouk fell victim to Israeli occupation forces on January 7. The young girl’s life was cut short when she was shot at a military checkpoint, leaving her family and community devastated by the loss. This shocking event has once again brought attention to the ongoing tensions in the region.

After ten days of anguish, Israeli occupation authorities finally handed over Ruqaya Abu Dahouk’s body to her grief-stricken family on Tuesday night. The delay in releasing the body only added to the pain and suffering the family had already endured.

Ruqaya Abu Dahouk, a resident of Beit Iksa, a town located northwest of occupied Jerusalem, was laid to rest after her body was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah. The community came together to pay their final respects to this innocent life lost.

On that fateful day, Israeli forces opened fire on two vehicles attempting to cross the Beit Iksa military checkpoint. Tragically, Ruqaya Abu Dahouk was caught in the crossfire and lost her life. The indiscriminate shooting also claimed the lives of a married couple, Mohammed Abu Eid and his wife, Duha, from the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem. This senseless act of violence has left families shattered and communities mourning.
