During the subsequent police interrogation on Monday, Nooruddin Mondal confessed to the heinous crime. The police officers also managed to recover the dismembered body parts of Saira from the Noia canal. A senior police officer stated, “A day after Mondal filed a missing complaint for his wife, the situation escalated. After Mondal’s daughter reported a kidnapping, he attempted suicide. He eventually admitted to slitting his wife’s throat and disposing of the body parts in the canal.”
