Accident – death – Obituary News : Driver Charged in Fayetteville Hit-and-Run Crash That Resulted in a Fatality

Fayetteville, North Carolina – A driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident is now facing multiple charges, according to authorities from the Fayetteville Police Department. The incident, which occurred on January 11th, took place in the 3000 block of Bragg Boulevard and tragically claimed the life of 59-year-old Rex Smith Jr., a resident of Fayetteville.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders pronounced Smith dead. After a thorough investigation, the driver responsible for the collision was identified as 30-year-old Cierra Holliday, also a resident of Fayetteville.

Holliday has been arrested and charged with various offenses including felony hit and run, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without insurance, failing to decrease speed to avoid a collision, and driving with an expired registration.

Following her arrest, Holliday was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center. However, she was able to secure her release after posting a $20,000 bond.
