Accident – death – Obituary News : **Man Arrested in Durham for Christmas Eve Shooting in Carrboro**

CARRBORO, N.C. – A man wanted in connection with a shooting on Christmas Eve in Carrboro has been apprehended in Durham. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Daniel Cruz Rivera of Durham, was taken into custody by the US Marshals Carolinas Regional Taskforce on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the early hours of December 24th, when Carrboro Police responded to a shooting call in the 200 block of NC 54. They discovered a 19-year-old man with life-threatening gunshot injuries. The victim was immediately transported to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he has been receiving treatment since the incident.

After identifying Daniel Cruz Rivera as the shooting suspect, law enforcement officers began a search for him. Finally, on Wednesday, the authorities caught up with Rivera in Durham and took him into custody. He is currently being held without bond at the Durham County Jail.
