The Tragic Loss of 3-Year-Old Girl in Howell Multi-Vehicle Crash

Tragedy struck last weekend on Route 34 in Howell, as a multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 3-year-old girl. The young victim, Kylie Williams, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her mother, Joelle Williams. The collision, which involved three vehicles, occurred on Saturday afternoon near the Howell-Colts Neck border in Monmouth County.

Joelle Williams, a beloved kindergarten teacher and high school field hockey coach in Metuchen, sustained serious injuries in the accident. A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family of Kyle Williams, Joelle’s husband, to help support them during this difficult time. The page describes the family’s immeasurable grief as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

The collision also left the couple’s 2-year-old son with minor injuries, along with another adult female passenger. The local competitive swimming community, in which Kyle Williams serves as a youth coach, has rallied together and established a separate GoFundMe page to raise funds for the family.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals touched by this tragedy, the two GoFundMe campaigns have already raised nearly $200,000 as of Wednesday afternoon. The outpouring of support demonstrates the community’s unity in times of adversity.

Joelle Williams: A Respected Teacher and Coach

The Metuchen school district, where Joelle Williams teaches at Moss School and serves as the varsity field hockey coach at Metuchen High School, sent an email to the school community expressing their support. The email highlighted Joelle’s dedication to her students and her involvement in the community. It also mentioned that she is a former student athlete from Metuchen and previously taught in Edison.

Investigation Underway

The collision remains under investigation by Howell police and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. As of now, the authorities have revealed that three women were driving the three vehicles involved in the crash. However, the drivers’ identities have not been disclosed.

The vehicle carrying the Williams family was operated by a 34-year-old woman from Howell, who had a 37-year-old companion from Wall with her. The other two vehicles were driven by a 31-year-old woman from Long Branch and a 33-year-old woman from Brick.
