The collision, which involved three vehicles, occurred on Saturday afternoon near the Howell-Colts Neck border in Monmouth County.

Joelle Williams, a beloved kindergarten teacher and high school field hockey coach in Metuchen, sustained serious injuries in the accident. The Metuchen school district, where Joelle Williams teaches at Moss School and serves as the varsity field hockey coach at Metuchen High School, sent an email to the school community expressing their support. The email highlighted Joelle’s dedication to her students and her involvement in the community. It also mentioned that she is a former student athlete from Metuchen and previously taught in Edison.

Investigation Underway

The collision remains under investigation by Howell police and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. As of now, the authorities have revealed that three women were driving the three vehicles involved in the crash. However, the drivers’ identities have not been disclosed.

The vehicle carrying the Williams family was operated by a 34-year-old woman from Howell, who had a 37-year-old companion from Wall with her. The other two vehicles were driven by a 31-year-old woman from Long Branch and a 33-year-old woman from Brick.
