Search Continues for Suspect in Clinton Township Homicide Case

Clinton Township police are actively searching for a man suspected of fatally shooting his girlfriend in front of their shared two-year-old child. The tragic incident, which took place on Monday afternoon, marked Macomb County’s first homicide of 2024.

Details of the Shooting

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 37000 block of Little Mack Avenue, near 16 Mile Road (Metro Parkway). Responding to a distress call, officers discovered the lifeless body of a woman who had suffered a gunshot wound.

Concerns for the Child

According to Detective Capt. Brandon Blake of the Clinton Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, the two-year-old child was present at the scene and witnessed the tragic event. Thankfully, the child is physically unharmed and is currently under the care of family members.

Due to the child’s young age, authorities have decided not to interview them at this time. Care House of Macomb County, an agency that provides support and advocacy for families, will be involved in the child’s welfare.

Suspect Still at Large

As of now, the male suspect remains at large, and detectives are actively searching for him. While the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, the public is urged to exercise caution as the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
