Man Fatally Shot in Durham’s Old Five Points Neighborhood Identified

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Durham’s Old Five Points neighborhood as Thomas Lee Edwards, a 58-year-old resident. The incident occurred on Friday evening on the 800 block of Lee Street, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.

Upon receiving a report of a man wounded in a shooting, officers rushed to the scene and found Edwards suffering from life-threatening injuries. Durham Emergency Medical Services immediately transported him to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
