Grandmother Urges Suspect to Face Accountability

Philadelphia, UK – A devastating tragedy unfolded in Philadelphia last year when a young man allegedly shot and killed his own father. Now, the family is pleading for their grandson and son, Jacque Houston, to turn himself in to the authorities. April Johnson, the grieving grandmother, is making an emotional appeal, urging her grandson to face accountability for his actions.

April Johnson fondly remembers her son, Micheal Lamar Houston, as a loving family man who always had a smile on his face. She describes him as a happy and outgoing person who cherished spending time with loved ones. Micheal and his oldest son, Jacque, were inseparable, sharing a strong bond that was shattered by the tragic incident.

“He was always with his dad, you know? His dad provided them with employment opportunities and took care of them,” said Johnson, reflecting on the close relationship between Micheal and Jacque.

The tragic incident occurred on March 9, 2023, when the Philadelphia police responded to a distress call at a residence on the 1500 block of South Dover Street in the Gray’s Ferry section of the city. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Micheal suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. Tragically, even the family dog fell victim to the shooting and lost its life.

Philadelphia law enforcement officials have identified Micheal’s son, Jacque Houston, as the prime suspect in the case. An argument is believed to have triggered the fatal shooting. As of now, Jacque remains at large, and the police are actively searching for him.

In an emotional plea, April Johnson directly addresses her grandson, emphasizing her love for him while expressing her disapproval of his actions. She implores Jacque to take responsibility for his deeds and face the consequences.

“If Jacque can hear me, wherever he may be in this world, I want him to know that I still love him. However, I cannot condone what he has done. He has taken away a wonderful person from our lives, and he needs to hold himself accountable for his actions,” Johnson tearfully stated.

Reward for Information

To aid in the capture and conviction of the individual responsible for this tragic incident, the City of Philadelphia is offering a reward of up to £20,000. Anyone with information regarding Jacque Houston’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous, and their identities will be protected.
