While Dan may no longer be with us, his family will continue to grapple with the unfathomable for many days, weeks, and years to come.”

The incident also left 11-year-old Ahmir Jolliff severely injured, having been shot three times by the 17-year-old assailant. Ahmir, affectionately known as “Smiley” by his family, remains in recovery. His mother, Erica Jolliff, described him as a loving and outgoing individual, deeply cherished by those around him.
